Projects > Sureshot Studio / UREI MOD-One Discrete Opamp
UREI is perhaps best known for pioneering several iconic compressors and limiters. Lesser known, however, is their production of discrete opamp-based broadcast consoles in the late ’70s. Thomas Hopman of Sureshot Studios in Amsterdam has attempted to revive the DOA used repeatedly throughout the MOD-1 console for use in the DIY world. The result is a very simple circuit compared with more well-known DOAs, one that can be used in many applications including as a buffer, balanced receiver, and gain amp, or even a summing amplifier.
