Projects > Recording Magazine Amp Interface
This project is a DIY reamp box designed by Scott Dorsey and published in Recording Magazine. The box cleverly avoids the most expensive part of most reamp projects (the step-down transformer) by using a low-ratio transformer and resistors to achieve the necessary impedance. It also provides two signal paths, inductive and resistive, that simulate the source impedances of different guitar pickups. There are build instructions on the Recording Mag website, and the project can be built totally point-to-point without much difficulty.
Notable Features:
- Low-cost design
- Switch between tonally different signal paths
- Volume pot
